We have a record number of stall holders, great enterainment, re-enactors, and of course no Christmas fayre would be complete without a visit from the man himself SANTA. We are delighted to announce that the CO, Colonel Pope from the Animal Defence Centre has kindly agreed to take time out from a busy schedule to open our fayre. Joining him will be other personnel from the camp including dog handlers and farriers. Melton Mowbray is very proud of the association that it has with the ADC and are extremly grateful for this. Park road once again sees the Rare breeds association, with a few of the animals dressed for the occasion! Do visit Off The Beaten Path for an excellent refreshment. He comes highly recommended. Pork Pie making demonstrations will be taking place outside Ye Olde Porke Pie Shoppe between 11am - 2pm on the hour and half hour. No visit to Melton Mowbray can be complete without taking home one of our famous pork pies. To compliment this, try the Melton Red Ale which can be found in the market square, along side the fabulous array of local cheeses that come from The Melton Cheeseboard. And if you fancy something really different, do try the wonderful healthy Bison Burgers also on sale in the market square itself. We have several story tellers in various locations and something different this year, we have a dance academy of young people from Oakham that will be performing routines throughout the town. I cannot stress enough that a visit to the Christmas tree festival in St Marys church is an absolute must. The display of trees on show is just astounding. In Sage Cross church there is also a Crib festival - again, worth a visit.

4th December 2011 - I'm delighted to say that despite cutbacks that have affected us and the rest of the country, this years fayre looks set to be one of the best yet.
